Overview

An addon domain allows you to host multiple websites under a single cPanel account. This guide will show you how to add a domain as an addon in cPanel on your Aveshost account.

Before you begin:

  • Ensure you have purchased and registered the domain name you want to use as an addon.
  • Your domain's nameservers should be pointed to your Aveshost account.

Steps:

  1. Login to cPanel: Access your cPanel account through your Aveshost control panel. Or open your web browser and go to your cPanel login URL. It usually looks like http://yourdomain.com/cpanel.

  2. Create a New Domain: Inside the cPanel, look for Domains and click on itClick the "Create A New Domain" button
  3. Enter the New Domain Information: In the Create a New Domain field, enter the domain name you want to add (e.g., example.com). Remember not to include www at the beginning.
  4. Document Root (File System Location): The Subdomain and Document Root fields will automatically populate. Leave these as they are.
    • Subdomain: This is created by cPanel for internal purposes and doesn't need to be changed.
    • Document Root: This is the directory where your addon domain's files will be stored. Make sure the checkbox "Share document root" is unchecked.
  5. Double-check all the information you have entered.
  6. Submit: Now click on the "Submit" button to create your new domain addon.
  7. Verify the Addon Domain: Navigate back to the Domains section to verify that your new domain appears in the list.

Additional Notes:

  • After creating the addon domain, you'll need to upload your website files to the designated document root directory. You can use an FTP client or the cPanel File Manager for this purpose.
  • Remember to update your domain's DNS records to point to your Aveshost nameservers if you haven't already done so. This ensures your domain resolves correctly and visitors can access your website.

By following these steps, you can successfully add a domain as an addon in your cPanel account and host multiple websites under your Aveshost plan.
